Dr. Tapia-Reyes is currently the Owner and Medical Director of Acupuncture Associates of America where she has been practicing for over 13 years. Dr. Tapia-Reyes has an undergraduate degree in psychology and a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine. Her extensive experience includes acupuncture at several treatment centers and firms including state facilities and private organizations. She has served as a guest speaker for students of oriental medicine studying a specialized form of acupuncture called “detox” acupuncture, and has worked as the chief acupuncturist at a center designed for persons overcoming addictions. Dr. Tapia-Reyes practices both Chinese and Japanese acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, injection therapy, moxibustion, and infrared heat therapy. Dr. Tapia-Reyes is considered one of New Mexico’s premier acupuncturist.

Dr. Zhong Liu,
is an NCCAOM certified and licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist as well as state certified and licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine (D.O.M.). Dr. Liu currently practices at Acupuncture Associates of America and is a native of China who received her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dr. Liu has been steeped in the practice of traditional Chinese medicine since childhood in China where it is a common place, every day occurrence, and is used to enhance individuals overall health with minimum invasiveness. In conjunction with her formal clinical training, she aims to help her patients accordingly.
She enjoys reading ancient Chinese philosophy. Since living in New Mexico, has enjoyed native New Mexico chiles which remind her of chiles from her native Hunan province in China.

Dr. Robert Nuttall,
is a NCCAOM certified and licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist and is state certified and licensed as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in New Mexico. He received his Masters in Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in 2003. He has been an associate with Acupuncture Associates of America since 2006.
Dr. Nuttall has lived all over the United States. He enjoys hiking, Qi Gong exercise, and lots of reading. As a strong advocate of animal rights, he is a regular rescuer of stray dogs and cats.
Dr. Nuttall’s treatment style incorporates both TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) acupuncture and alternative Japanese style modalities. Infrared heat, Tuina massage technique, occasional electrical stimulation on needles, moxibustion, herbal formula strategies, when needed, are also integral components in his patient treatments.
In conjunction with referrals from western medical MDs, Dr. Nuttall strives to not only treat complex pain and disease issues, but works to educate his patients and help those who are already healthy to boost their energy and performance. “I am happiest when acupuncture for pain is successful and the patient’s regular prescribing physician is able to greatly reduce or eliminate their pain medications.
